Mysteries - Reading - A Great Pastime!
Helping my human, sitting on the lap of the book
reader is my job, gets me attention, pets, and a warm soft place to sleep. I’m
comfy!
So to keep the mind active my human has been
re-reading all her mystery books.
- Dorothy Gilman, Mrs. Pollifax, light, sometimes gruesome, but fast reads New Jersey Garden Club CIA agent.
- Heron Carvic’s, Miss Seeton, that oblivious Scotland Yard helper somewhat wordy about town settings and characters, but still light and quick. Got the originals and a bunch of Hamilton Crane’s versions and Hampton Charles as well.
- Too many Lillian Jackson Braun, The Cat Who’s, repeat of the premise of his fortune in each book tiring and wordy.
- Elizabeth Peters, the Peabody’s and Egypt digs
- All Agatha Christie, Poirot and Miss Marple.
- All Rex Stout, Nero Wolfe.
- Spattering of Sherlock Holmes, don’t know where they all are.
- G. K. Chesterton, Father Brown.
- Ellis Peters, Brother Cadfael.
- Dorothy Sayers, Lord Peter Wimsey.
- Marjorie Allingham, Mr. Campion.
- And other single and straggling authors of mysteries. Aunt Dimity, etc.
- Chi’s Sweet Home series translated from the original Japanese series, really silly kitten and her adventures, great fun.
With the number of stray cats living here, we recognize quite a few of the personalities. Lightens our days.
Bunches of cookbooks that were never gotten to before. Not cooking, just reading, lots of “got to try”.
