Welcome

Hi Everyone:
Grayce our writer, cook and lady

Grayce here, Welcome to my humble blog.  I’m so glad you stopped by.  This is an experiment in love and kindness and spreading information about our people and family.

I’m one of 6 rescues that are thankful for the life we have been given by our rescuers.

In return, I am spearheading an effort to help us support us for their generosity by making products available that can help financially.  Our foods and medical bills cost a lot.  Buddy at 14 has been very sick this year. He was declawed then thrown out into the world to fend for himself (2005?).   Isn’t he handsome?

Bane of our lives

We are finally recovering from fleas with a wonder product Bravecto® that worked wonders. We and the house are totally flea free (at a cost because of the number of us).  But it works!  We are proof of that!   We got ours (squeeze on type) from our Vet, works on dogs too! It’s comes as a chewable tab for dogs, too. (If you’re in Florida, they’re here  FB page.) Great people!  If you’re not check out Bravecto® with your Vet.

Biggles and Grayce were the most affected by the fleas.  Biggles had taken off most of his coat and Grayce had lost most of hers and had a real allergic reaction as shown in the photo.  We started treatment in July and almost immediately there was improvement.

Plan of Action:

A lot of what I have done is take a cousin’s photos and turn them into children’s books.  It started with a Planner (that has a 5 step system to goals) where I incorporated photos of Lithuania.  Then I added Lithuanian Recipes for you cookbook collectors.  Lithuanian National Recipes and Family Recipes are included.  These are not for the faint of heart they are old fashioned comfort food that was eaten by our ancestors. A lot of that diet was made up of potatoes in various forms of delicious foods, Kugel, Potato Pancakes, Potatoes in Granny’s Stew. Breads, Christmas, Easter, donuts, we all know how lo-cal those are. Feel free to look around and indulge yourself in our heritage, whether or not you are Lithuanian.

I, Grayce,  love to help in the kitchen, so I have a cookbook too, Grayce Cooks 7 Budget Recipes Ready in 60 Minutes: A Picture Book.  It's a photo book of my helping cook with recipes and our cat life stories.  It's Kindle only.

Books are for everyone, they are portable, you can turn the pages, you can hold them and share them with another reader or a group.  They don’t need charging or batteries to take you to wondrous places. Just open up, read, turn the page and go.

Traveling Take Heed- what not to pack

Lithuanian sense of humor to a serious matter.  Airline Safety.

Airport workers have the last laugh with passengers' confiscated security items.
Neat Christmas Tree put together by the Lithuanian Airport Security Division in Vilnius. Maybe passengers will get the message.

One wonders how many pairs of scissors someone needs.  Did they stop the same repeat passengers doing the same thing?  Or were these all first offenders?   Are there that many tailors/seamstresses in the world?

I think something visual like this gets passengers attention more than some piece of paper listing "What Not To Take On an Airplane."  It will stick longer and they'll probably take photos to share, which will embed the lesson they are teaching. Check your bags for banned items!

Do not travel with these items.

I give up everyone and his brother has this and other photos, at least we are about Lithuania and education.  Using in that manner should be fine.I hope. This photo from the Linkedin story.

Lithuania A Little History

Lithuania -  Heritage

The country of Lithuania is one of the Baltic Countries.

Lithuania has a rich culture and has been inhabited since the Mesolithic Era (15,000 to 5,000BP). Vilnius the capitol is a UNESCO World Heritage City. Vilnius has always been a multi-national city, with  rich architectural components highlighting various periods of history.  The Old Town of Vilnius, one of the largest surviving medieval old towns in Northern Europe, has an area of 3.59 square kilometers (887 acres). It encompasses 74 quarters , with 70 streets and lanes numbering 1,487 buildings with a total floor area of 1,497,000 square meters. Examples of some of Europe’s greatest architectural styles – Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical are found here.

Cousins and Books

American cousin turns Lithuanian Cousin’s photos into children’s books.

Although the Marcijona stories are animal based, they hold the same messages, tolerance, life chores, varying culture, country and endangered species. Using the animals gives it a broader audience reach and deflates a gender-biased tone. Anyone can be friends with anyone if they see each other as a part of a total world population.

The photos of the endangered Red Squirrel have lent themselves to children’s stories.
This  enables children worldwide to learn about the Red Squirrel and Lithuania.
Grayce Lynn Lily introduces Cousin Jonas’s photography in children’s  books available in both Kindle and Print form.
